chapter 2 Statistical methodology The 2024 Business Trade and Services Survey The establishments under the scope of the survey were those engaged in wholesale trade, retail trade and services classified according to the Thailand Standard Industrial Classifications (TSIC -2009). The survey covered all the business establishments located in fixed premises in municipal areas and non-municipal areas throughout the country. All the information collected refers to the operation period of establishment during January 1 to December 31, 2023. 2.1 Population 2.2 Reference period 2.3 Definitions 2.3.1 Business trade and services establishments Refer to establishments which engaged in wholesale trade, retail trade, selling prepared food for immediate consumption and provision on a fee basis of lodging and camping facilities as well as in services, such as rendering in letting or operating real estate, in business services and in other business services. 2.3.2 Business industry classification The 2024 Business Trade and Services Survey are classified business industry activities according to the Thailand Standard Industrial Classification (TSIC -2009) , categories G, I, J, L, M, N, R and S which the arrangement of the TSIC structure is as follows: 47
