Chapter 3 major finding The 2024 Business Trade and Services Survey 3.2 Operation information of the establishment 3.2.1 Persons engaged and remuneration Focusing on the number of persons engaged, table C shows that, there were a total of 7.3 million persons engaged in the business establishments in the Whole Kingdom. Most of them (about 4.6 million persons or 62.9 percent) engaged in establishments with 1-5 persons. Considering by division of the business industry, it was found that most of the persons engaged (about 2.7 million persons or 37.0 percent) engaged in retail trade (except of motor vehicles and motorcycles). This was followed by those engaged in food and beverage service activities and wholesale trade (except of motor vehicles and motorcycles), which had the proportions of about 16.7 percent and 13.0 percent respect i ve l y. The estab l ishments engaged in wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles had proportions of about 9.6 percent. The other divisions of the business industry not mentioned above had a rather low proportion of persons engaged, of which each one had less than 7.0 percent of the total. The emp l oyees engaged i n bus i ness establishments in the Whole Kingdom received a total remuneration of about 742.8 billion baht or about 182.5 thousand baht per person per annum. The employees engaged in establishments with more than 200 persons received the highest annual remuneration, of about 302.3 thousand baht per person. While those employees engaged in establishments with 1-5 persons received the lowest annual remuneration, of about 142.7 thousand baht per person. Considering by division of the business industry, it was found that the employees engaged in computer programming, consultancy and related activities had the highest annual remuneration, of about 356.0 thousand baht per person. This was followed by those engaged in legal and accounting activities and motion picture, video and television programming production, sound recording and music publishing activities received annual remuneration of about 324.5 thousand baht and 320.6 thousand baht respectively. The employees engaged in other divisions of the business industry not mentioned above received annual remuneration of less than 310.0 thousand baht per person. Remuneration Number of persons engaged In terms of employment, the number of employees amounted to 4.1 million persons. About 1.6 million persons or 38.9 percent of employees worked in establishments with 1-5 persons. Considering by division of business industry, most of the employees (about 29.0 percent) engaged in retail trade (except of motor vehicles and motorcycles). This was followed by those engaged in wholesale trade (except of Number of employees beverage motor vehicles and motorcycles), food and beverage service activities and those engaged in wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles had the proportions of about 18.4 percent, 14.7 percent and 10.5 percent respectively.
