Its objectives are to support the development of the country’s economy, enhance national competitiveness, and promote the use of technology and innovation in production. อุตสาหกรรมแร่ มีความสําคัญและเป็นตัวกระตุ้น ผลักดันการพัฒนาประเทศมาโดยตลอด แร่ที่มีการผลิต ในประเทศมีมากกว่า 40 ชนิดซึ่งสามารถจําแนกออกเป็น กลุ่มแร่ตามลักษณะการใช้ในอุตสาหกรรมได้ 8 กลุ่ม ดังนี้ 1 . กลุ่มแร่เชื้อเพลิงและพลังงาน ได้แก่ ถ่านหิน ลิกไนต์ และแอนทราไซต์ 2 . กลุ่มแร่โลหะและแร่หายาก ได้แก่ ดีบุก ตะกั่ว สังกะสี เหล็ก อลูมิ เนียม แมงกานีส ทองแด ง ทังสเตน โคลัมไบต์ - แทนทาไลต์ และเซอร์คอน 3 . กลุ่มแร่รัตนชาติและโลหะมีค่า ได้แก่ ทองคํา และอัญมณี 4 . กลุ่มแร่อุตสาหกรรมซีเมนต์ ได้แก่ หินปูน หินดินดาน ยิปซัม และดินมาร์ล 5 . กลุ่มแร่อุตสาหกรรมก่อสร้าง ได้แก่ หิน อุตสาหกรรมเพื่อการก่อสร้าง หินอ่อน หินแกรนิต และ หินประดับ 6 . กลุ่มแร่อุตสาหกรรมเซรามิกแก้วและกระจก ได้แก่ดินขาว เฟลด์สปาร์ โดโลไมต์ บอลเคลย์ ทราย แก้ว และควอร์ตซ์ 7 . กลุ่มแร่อุตสาหกรรมปุ๋ยเคมีภัณฑ์ ได้แก่ โพแทซ์เกลือ เพอร์ไลต์ ฟอสเฟต 8 . กลุ่มแร่ที่ใช้ในอุตสาหกรรมอื่นๆ ได้แก่ แบ ไรต์ฟลูออไรต์ แคลไซต์ ทัลค์ ไดอะทอไมต์ และเบนโท ไนต์ Mineral Industry statistics: an important industry that enhanced national development. More than 40 kinds of minerals were produced domestically which could be categorized into 8 groups according to their industrial utilizations as follows: 1. Mineral Fuels and Energy group: Coal, Lignite, and Anthracite 2. Metals and Rare Earth group: Tin, Lead, Zinc, Iron, Aluminium, Manganese, Copper, Tungsten, Columbite-Tantalite, and Zircon 3. Precious Metals and Precious Stone group: Gold and Gem stone 4. Cement Industrial Minerals group: Limstone, Shale, Gypsum, and Marl 5. Construction Industrial Minerals group: Industrial rock construction, Marble, Granite, and Dimension stone 6. Ceramic and Glass Industrial Minerals group: Kaolin, Feldspar, Dolomite, Ball clay, Glass sand, and Quartz 7. Fertilizer and Chemicals Industrial Minerals group: Potash, Rock Salt, Perlite, and Phosphate 8.
